Room Control and Claiming
A hunting room or field spot you hunt in becomes yours: no new sim party is placed on top of you, and a party that lost the room does not come back into it. You can also ask a sim party to leave, or call one over to hunt beside you.
Summary
| Take an empty room or spot | Stand in it for about 30 seconds |
| Take one a sim party is using | Fight in it for about 1 minute, or ask with .claim (.gtfo) |
| Check where you stand | .room (.hold) |
| Walk away | Your hold stays reserved to you for about 10 minutes |
| Let go | .release, or .release all |
| Get company | .callparty, or Call Help on the dashboard |
Taking a room or spot
| The room is | Do | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Free | Stand in it | About 30 seconds and it is yours |
| Used by a sim party | Fight in it | About a minute of fighting takes it. A pause between pulls does not reset the time; leaving does |
| Used by a sim party | .claim, or Claim Zone on the dashboard |
Asks that party to leave |
| Held by another player | It stays theirs. .room names the holder |
Asking a party to leave
.claim (alias .gtfo) asks a party to leave.
| Topic | Rule |
|---|---|
| Who is asked | Your target’s party, or the only other party in your room if you have no target |
| Other ways to ask | Say it in local chat, or hit a member of the party |
| Who can ask | The room’s holder, or anyone in a room nobody holds. Anyone else hears This room is held by <name>. |
| Parties with a real player | Never asked. You get That party has a real player in it - ask them yourself. |
| Several parties in the room | Target a member of the one you mean |
| Timing | The answer comes in local chat after 3 to 12 seconds, then the party leaves |
Claim Zone sits under Sim Commands on the dashboard’s Home page and runs .claim.
GTFO allowance
You can hold up to 3 rooms or spots that you took from another party. While you are under that, every ask gets a yes. Past it, sims are less willing (70%, then 40%, then 20%) and slower to answer, and fighting no longer takes a room over.
Releasing a hold you took from a party gives one back. Once all 3 are used, .room says
GTFO allowance: all 3 used - sims are now less willing to leave. Release a room to get one back.
If you finish the fighting time while at the allowance, the room does not change hands, and you are
told to use .claim or .release one.
.room (alias .hold)
One reply, a few lines:
- Where you are and who holds it: you, another player, a sim party, or nobody. For a free room it says how long to stay; for a sim party’s room, how long to fight.
- Your other holds, and the time left on any that are reserved.
- Your GTFO allowance, for example
GTFO allowance: 2 of 3 left before sims get less willing. - Whether Call Help can come here, and if not, why.
Reservation and release
When your whole party steps out of a room you hold, it stays reserved to you for about 10 minutes (plus a short random extra of up to 3 minutes). Come back in that time and the hold carries on. After it lapses, sim parties can be sent there again.
.release lets go of the room you are standing in at once, without the reservation.
.release all lets go of every hold you have. Neither touches another player’s hold.
Call Help
.callparty, or Call Help under Sim Commands on Home, sends a sim party to hunt beside
you. The called party does not join yours; for that, shout LF (see
Party mechanics).
- It works only in a room you hold or that nobody holds, and with no other party in it.
- A party already waiting nearby is sent first. Otherwise a new party walks in from out of sight.
- When nobody can come, the reply says why, for example
No party is free to come right now - the area is full. - In a field it works the same way over the hunting spot you stand at or near.
