Find Raid and the forming list

Open the Raids tab. With no raid found yet, the first button reads Find Raid and lists the groups forming near you. With a party and a plan, the Plan tab shows the same list under Raids forming near you, up to 3 groups, each with a Join button. .raid prints the list in chat, up to 5, groups you meet the level for first, then the largest.

Kaelen: Remmel, level 34 plus, 3 of 9 (2 people). .raid join Kaelen

Kind Listed when
A player’s group Its leader has opened the Raid Plan and not pressed Begin, and stands within 1,500 units of you, or you can hear its shout
A group the sims are staging in town You stand in the same town, within 4,000 units of its leader
  • The boss is the first raid on that group’s plan.
  • “level N plus” is the low end of its raid range. Below it, the line adds “you need level N”.

Forming, but not for you. A group you can hear forming that you cannot join is named under that heading with the reason, and has no Join button. The Plan tab names two at most; .raid names them all.

Who can join

One rule decides every way in: the forming list, the Join button, .raid join and a whisper to the leader. You can join a group when all of these hold, and the refusal names the one that fails:

Rule Detail
The raid curse Nobody who joins is above the group’s curse line. This includes anyone you bring in your party
The level gap No member of the group is more than 9 levels above you (you would lose experience) or more than 9 below you (they cannot earn)
Minimum level You are at or over the level the raid needs

A full roster does not block joining: the last sim steps out to make room for you.

Groups the sims stage

  • Sims form raid groups in towns where a player is, one group per town at most, so there is often one to join.
  • It is 6 seats (a tank, a healer, four damage dealers) filled one at a time over 1 to 5 minutes with sims whose level fits the boss.
  • While a seat is open and a player is near, it shouts:

[Raid Party Forming] for Remmel, looking for healer level 30 plus, 2 DPS level 28 plus. Whisper me to join.

After 8 minutes it goes ahead short and says which jobs are open. After 15 minutes with no player it breaks up and says why.

If nothing is forming: get a party with .party fill or invites, then .raid opens your plan. .party fill ends with the next step: Next: .raid opens your Raid Plan.

Asking for a raid in chat

Type lf raid, or lf raid 45+ for a level floor. It is the same LF search as any other: your character shows as searching, and the leaders of forming raids that fit you whisper you.

Join mine: Remmel, we're at Gludio. Whisper me to join.

  • A leader messages you once per 10 minutes. A group you do not fit does not message you; the forming list names it with the reason.
  • Reply to the leader with any whisper, such as join or inv. That joins you.

Saying raid in general, shout or trade chat in a line that asks (a question mark, or an opener such as lf, anyone, need, a role, a count or a level) also gets you the .raid answer. Naming a role (need tank and dps for raid) sends out an ordinary LF per role. Roles are tank, healer, buffer (or support) and DPS. Reply .yes or .no to a sim that answers.

Joining a raid group

Join while the group is forming. The leader cannot refuse a join, but the rules above apply.

You are Result
Not in a party, joining a group the sims staged in town You lead a new party made of its members
Not in a party, room in the group You join the leader’s party
Not in a party, group full The last sim in the party steps out to make room for you
Not in a party, 9 people already Refused: lead a party of your own, then .raid join adds it as a second party
Leader of your own party Your whole party joins the plan as a party of its own
Member of another party Refused: leave it first, or ask its leader to bring it
Joining after Begin Refused: the group has left town
Not a fit (curse, level gap, minimum level) Refused with the reason. A leader you whispered answers sorry, can't take you: and the reason

Joining a staged group makes you its leader and nothing leaves town until you press Begin. Below the raid’s level you are refused: Level 27 is under the 30 this raid needs for Remmel: reach level 30 first. After you join, the Raid Plan opens on that raid.

Who leads

  • The raid leader is the party leader. .raid lead <name> hands the lead to another person in the group, only while the group forms in town, and never to a sim. Stance, range, travel setting and every member’s job move with it.
  • A leader with no activity for 5 minutes while the group forms loses the lead to the next person who was active. Activity is moving, chatting, a .raid command or a Raid Plan button. With no other active person, the group waits in town and says so in party chat.

Next: The Raid Plan.
